Great project for you and the kids! This easy-to-assemble bat house kit can house an estimated 50+ bats.
Great project for you and the kids! This easy-to-assemble bat house kit can house an estimated 50+ bats. The components are quality ACX exterior plywood with a unique tab and slot design making assembly simple. The kit comes mitered, grooved and ready to assemble with screws, countersink bit and complete instructions.
Tools needed: Drill, a Phillips-head screwdriver or phillips driver on your drill.
Supplies needed: Water-based paint for exterior finish, Caulk and dark water based stain (optional) to darken inside if desired.
Manual covers assembly instructions as well as painting and placement guidelines.
INCLUDES COUNTERSINK BIT!
Includes: Countersink Bit, Complete instructions, screws and a decorative bat cutout.
Finished dimensions: 28 1/2" tall, 18" wide and 2" deep. Provides about 250 cubic inches of roosting space which will house about 80 bats.*
*We attempt to be honest with our estimates allowing approx 3 cubic inches for each bat. This includes an allowance for unused space since the bats will not pack the house top to bottom. Some species will crowd in very tightly, others will not. The math is simple: "Cubic Inches of Roosting space / 3 Cubic Inches = estimate of capacity".

| 09/03/2011 Robert B. | Bigger than I thought | The bat house is much bigger than I expected. Most of the kits are little nail together boxes, this one is a REAL bat house when you're done. Thanks bunches! |
